At an age when most might be winding down, Lawrence Robinson, one of Breast Cancer Research Aid’s most dedicated trustees, is preparing to take on his most daring challenge yet: a skydive with Go Skydive to mark his 80th birthday on 7 July 2025
Lawrence has been a passionate supporter of Breast Cancer Research Aid for many years, playing a crucial role not only as a trustee but also as an inspiring fundraiser. His unwavering commitment to advancing breast cancer research has seen him take part in a variety of events, each more creative and bold than the last.
Over the years, Lawrence has raised thousands of pounds for the charity by taking on a range of fundraising efforts, including:
Soapbox Derby 2017
Hot Air Balloon ride 2018
Zipwire Cornwall 2019
I Fly 2023
Wing Walking 2024
Each event has not only generated vital funds for breast cancer research but has also drawn attention to the critical importance of early diagnosis, treatment innovation, and ongoing support for those affected.
Now, as Lawrence approaches his 80th birthday, he’s preparing for an unforgettable leap—skydiving from 15,000 feet with Go Skydive.
The success of Breast Cancer Research Aid is very much the result of the relationships we foster through our volunteer opportunities, and the communities we build through participation in our programs and events.

Message from Giving Support Ltd
I am grateful for the opportunity to share some facts about the confusion many people have about the process our fundraising charity follows in collecting unwanted clothing. We deliver extremely thin plastic bags to households across the country. These bags are then collected and delivered to sorting plants in Poland & Ukraine. The clothing being supplied to poor countries is affordable clothing to many grateful families. Monies from the sale of these UK unwanted items are sold & the benefits are donated to two major research organisations in this country, helping many thousands of people fighting breast cancer & other forms of cancer. If you could imagine the millions of tonnes per month of unwanted clothing collected, was dumped in landfill, the effects of pollution would be catastrophic also the thin plastic bags used for collection are sold for recycling by granulation. We work alongside charity volunteers providing this valuable service.
